What is Reiki?

A Japanese method of hands on healing.  It is a system that transforms and promotes healing of the body and mind using Universal energy or Ki.  

How does it work?

When Reiki is administered in the form of a treatment, the practitioner only acts as a conduit for healing energies to transfer to the recipient.  This healing energy activates the recipient’s own healing process giving the body the ability to heal itself by receiving a natural boost of life force energy.  

What can it treat?

It can address many health care concerns.  It can be applied to any part of the body, injury or illness.  It also has a calming effect on the mind and emotions.  

Is Reiki always safe?

It is one of the most non-invasive, low impact and safest methods available.   

Do I have to be ill to receive Reiki?

No.  Regular treatment will actually enhance the bodies’ natural healing rate as well as reduce lethargy and stress related problems.  

Do I need to remove any clothing for a treatment?

No.  It is not necessary since energy has the ability to penetrate clothing.  You may want to remove your shoes, wear loose clothing and loosen your belt for comfort only.  

How should I feel after a treatment?

Most people generally feel refreshed and energized much like after a good night’s sleep.  Others have reported feeling very relaxed, heavy and/or sleepy.  As individual’s, different people will experience different responses.    

Can I stop my regular medical treatments when I have a Reiki treatment?

No!  Reiki treatment should never be considered a replacement for regular medical care.  Always consult your physician before stopping any regular medical treatments.  

What are Chakras?

Chakras are energy centers in the body.  There are seven chakras.  In a Reiki session, these energy centers are assessed and addressed to perform their normal functions by connecting to and receiving the universal energy.
